Hi guys. Nice to have you aboard Macjim and your comments are most welcome - even if it does make me out to be a liar :-) . iPhoto does indeed have a Revert to Original feature - I stand corrected.

macjim being a new user and a windows switcher having used PhotoElements 3.0 for windows I wondered how iPhoto handled the changes and you are spot on an original is kept in a separate folder.

You were talking about iphoto and you commented that when editing photos the original got altered permanently. I think I'm correct in saying that the original does not change as you can always revert to the original file at any time. Check it out. Enjoy the show- listened from episode 1
Cheers from bonny Scotland and happy new year, Macjim.

Hi Guys sounds like Mike had a great Christmas playing with VMWare, I actually installed the trial Version of VMWare as I wanted to put XP onto my machine (for various reasons which no need to go into here), all went well and I got XP up and running quite quick actually but, and this just killed me, as soon as I started VMWare up it just swallowed my memory, I have 2 gig ram and it went straight up to 1.7 gig usage, and as soon as I closed VM down the mem usage would drop straight back, yes I had put limits on the mem usage but this didn’t seem to make any difference.
Anyway I’d decided that this was no good so installed boot Camp, and apart from me not thinking what I was doing and trying to install XP onto a Mac formatted partition (I can hear you laughing), funny thing is it did install, it just wouldn’t boot lolz, all has gone great and along with using an app called macdrive, it’s pretty good, this will though strangely enough I think speed up the transition to the Mac for the whole family, as they slowly get fed up of rebooting into windows and not being able to use those beautiful Mac ‘i’apps.

CMD OPTION ESC great I didn’t know there was a Mac Ctrl Alt Del sort of option, I know it’s not quite the same, but that’s all I ever used the task manager for in Windows ie force quit an app, in fact I used to keep task manager on my task bar lolz!

As for sharing the FotoMagico slideshow with windows friends can you import the finished item into keynote and then export it from there to quicktime, even window users can see those! Not all window users are bad!!
