The MacBites Live Chatroom

The legendary MacBites Live chatroom is THE place to be when there’s an Apple announcement. You’ll find Elaine, Mike and The MacBiters enjoying the friendly, vibrant environment and chatting and debating about the latest news from Cupertino.

Come along and join in the fun. Whether you want to speak, text chat or simply sit back and listen, everyone’s welcome!

You’ll find details of all the MacBites Live events in The MacBites Live Calendar.

Want to relive some of the previous MacBites Live events? We’ve put together a collection of highlights from all the Apple events we’ve covered…

It’s Been Way Too Long

There was plenty for the MacBiters gathered in the MacBites Live chatrooom to get excited about – and we don’t just mean Craig (who appeared to have drunk a gallon-full of coffee or was high on a sugar rush!)

Wish We Could Say More

iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were announced along with the iWatch. However, all this was overshadowed by the Truck Event testcard, a Chinese simultaneous translation & the great U2 album-giveaway.

WWDC Keynote 2014

WWDC 2014 was where Apple introduced us to iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite and Craig Federighi, Apple’s Senior VP of Software Engineering delivered most of the main two hour presentation. Definitely one for the ladies!

We Still Have a Lot to Cover

Good news – finally a new version of iWork. Screams of delight from Elaine! Bad news – they’ve done a Final Cut and ripped bits out. Sounds of sobbing coming from MacBites HQ! Also announced were new iPads.

This Should Brighten Everyone’s Day!

As well as launching the iPhone 5S, Apple also launched the 5C. Available in a multitude of bright colours (pink?) it also sported an illuminated backside (according to Phil anyway).

WWDC Keynote 2013

WWDC 2013 saw Apple unveil iOS 7, OS X Mavericks, iWork for iCloud, the Mac Pro (the one that looks like a shopping mall bin), new MacBook Airs and iBooks onOS X. Craig, Phil, Tim and Eddie were there and there were some games demos too!

More to Show You!

They took the thinnest piece of aloominum (sic) and made the thinnest iMac. 80% thinner in fact (does that mean 80% cheaper?). The iPad Mini was also unveiled and the Mac Mini got an update too.

It’s Almost Here

Another day another iPhone. This time the iPhone 5. Smaller, lighter, faster, and probably more expensive too! This event also saw the introduction of the Lightning connector. iOS 6 was also covered and some updates to iTunes too.

WWDC Keynote 2012

WWDC 2012 saw the introduction of the MacBook Pro with Retina Display, iOS 6 and its standalone Maps app, OS X Mountain Lion, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air updates, and a redesigned AirPort Express.
