Some people said I was mad, going to The Trafford Centre and standing in the queue (well strictly speaking I was outside the queue) when I wasn’t even buying the thing. “It’s all part of the Apple Experience” I told them. “Geek” was their reply (or maybe it was “freak”!). Anyway I enjoyed myself and that’s all that matters. You can hear all about it on the next episode of The MacBites Podcast. Meanwhile, enjoy the pics….
Have you JailBroke it yet?
Hiya Gazmaz
No, I really have no intentions of hacking my new iPhone.
I’m happy to wait and see what new apps will become available when the official SDK is given to developers in the new year.
If I had a spare, (as if that’s gonna happen) then of course I’d hack it down to the last layer of silicon!
I did post a little tongue in check, but hey wait until Feb (that’s when the programmers get their mits on it right) and then wait for the apps, I don’t know just after Christmas you’ll be thinking shall I,,, what the hell….. LOLz
Not related to this post but you guys asked if I’d gone to Leopard well I have and at the moment I have a real long boot time after login to my account, so currently I’m having windows flashbacks aaaarrrrgggghhhh
Hi Gaz
is it any different if you create another user and login with that one?
You’ve probably already checked this, but I wonder if it is a particular app in your login items causing the issue.
Is spotlight still indexing some massive external storage that you’re hooked up to?
I know, I know….. you’ve tried all these and more, so take this as tongue in cheek too 😉
I did notice that my MBP took longer to start after the Leopard upgrade, but solved that when I did an erase and install instead of upgrade install of Leopard.
It had more or less doubled my startup times….. back to usual speedy startup now.
No no please teach me to suck eggs I hadn’t tried the first option as although I have other user’s at present I’m really the only one who uses the Mac regularly. So I tried one of the other user’s and after the initial boot up for Leopard, I did another login and it took 7 secs from the user screen to usable desktop. That also confirmed that the partitioned 500 gig hard wasn’t causing the problem, this I had already checked by disconnecting. So I went back into my account and guess what app started up, iTunes, hang on I thought I’d logged out fully, so I went into my login options and there were several login options that were obviously iTunes connected, so I got rid of them re logged in and from user screen to usable desktop 12 secs, that’ll do. so although you didn’t directly help you made me think a bit more. Good man as I really didn’t want (or think I should need to) do a clean install, I’ve given you guys another mention on my website, mind you that won’t help you much lolz.
