In this episode we discuss the iPhone 3 software update. How did the update go? What features do we like? We also discuss the new iPhone 3GS – even though we didn’t buy, we still got our hands on one. Plus we have a good laugh at Microsoft’s expense!

Hi Guys
Again great episode. I thought the IE8 was a spoof but I mayb wrong (But accessed the clue in Safari thanks to the Develop Menu)
I do have a point, Microsoft releasing a Free AV suite soon (Microsoft Security Essentials). Now, how can you trust an software developer not to put as many bugs into the AV they make as the OS they make??
It may be free, but come on, it will probably let as many bugs get onto the system as Windows Defender does ! !
Any enough of my ranting, you did ask for Screen Capture software, I have used 3, and these are mine, in order:-
1. Screenflow – simple, and basic editing but expensive.
2. iShowU HD – Tried this as had iShowU, but not a patch on Screenflow, and also seems to chuck out larger files with no quality improvement.
3. iShowU – If you are still on tiger, then this is the choice for me.
Hope that helps.
Hi guys
late last week and early this week lol
How did I miss those Microsoft promotions? They are hysterical. Like you I couldn’t believe they were really real, wow is all I can say. Thanks so much for mentioning them I’ve got to show everyone at work, well I’ll show everyone who is savvy enough to understand as most of my colleagues are as techie challenged as Mikes sound.
I had to ask my Dad who Colin Welland was and he laughed til he cried when I played what Elaine said on the show to him. He said he remembered that speech CW made years ago and said it has taken the british film industry all this time to live it down. I just wish I could find it on youtube or something, it must be worth seeing as I’ve not seen my Dad laugh like that ever!!
Off to dream of a new iPhone now
I upgraded my iPhone to 3.0 and had no problems, but I have had Mike’s disappearing apps problem a few times where it insists there is nothing to update and I know there are new versions.
The M$ stuff was good too. Unfortunately I live in a Microsoft world at work though I don’t think they’ll be bringing in Office 2010 any time soon – still not got Vista here.
Keep up the good work!!
Was very pleased to see you two return the other week, welcome back! I really enjoy the show and its great to have Mac news delivered in an English accent; well almost!
All the best and thank you.
Regards.

Totally agree with your assessment of Microsoft’s foray into the virus protection market … fox looking after the chickens for sure!!
& what a good collection of screen capturing apps they’ll definitely all appear in our roundup of video apps coming to a podcast near you soon … screenshot apps in episode 20
Amanda
Asked your Dad? OMG do I feel old now 😉 Glad to give him a laugh though
Lucy
I’m sure Mike feels your pain about your work software. I’m blessed to be in charge of my own hardware and software and Vista does NOT figure in that at all LOL
Nick
Great to hear from you hope you enjoy the latest show … you had Mike worried about the almost in the English accents comment!!
What a lovely part of the country you live in. So jealous that you’re so much closer to Melmerby than us.
There’s a wonderful supplier of wheat free treats based in Melmerby. I shall console myself with the fact that if I lived closer I’d only bankrupt myself 😉
